My name is Ryan Gray and i am a professional mma fighter with an undefeated record of 5 wins as a professional, 4 of those fights didn't make it out of the first round.
I first started training martial arts when i was 9 with tae kwon do. My father made me do it at first for self defence, i honestly didn't enjoy it at first so I'm glad my father forced me to do it or i wouldn't be where I am today.
After years of gym hoping and learning how to grapple from multiple different coaches i finally found a home at the mma clinic, when i walked in the doors i knew i would fight for this gym, it was only a matter of when, then i met my coach Ben vickers who showed me that i wasn't ready no matter how much i thought i was, he was right because i needed better training and he gave that to me.
The thing i love most about competing mma is the reality of the night, when i step into the cage i am ready, i have trained my ass of for weeks and maybe months just to get in there, I'm not scared anymore when the door shuts, I'm excited. Excited that myself and another man get to put on an exciting fight for the hundreds of people watching, they will cheer or boo and they paid their money to do so. I love fighting because its not a sport or a game, its who is the better fighter.
My goals for 2015 is to win every fight i have, it was my goals for 2013 and 2014 and it will be my goal for every fight in the future. I have a tournament in June where i must fight at the start of the night and if (when) i win i get to fight for a major championship later that night. My goal is to walk out with the belt and I'm training very hard to make sure i meet that goal.
